Supporting Families Living with Neurologic Conditions: CNF’s Family Support Program

Download the Handout

At Migraine at School, we know how overwhelming it can feel to navigate life when your child is living with a neurologic condition like migraine. From finding the right medical care to understanding school accommodations and emotional support, families need clear, trusted guidance.

That’s why we’re proud to share this month’s Family Support Handout from our partners at the Child Neurology Foundation (CNF), a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to advancing care for children living with neurologic conditions. CNF works hand-in-hand with families, clinicians, and advocacy leaders to strengthen the systems that support kids, from the time of diagnosis through the transition to adulthood and beyond.

How CNF’s Family Support Program Can Help

CNF’s Family Support Program is free, confidential, and designed to meet each family where they are. Their trained staff can help you:

  • Learn more about your child’s condition and how to best support them.

  • Navigate transitions in care, from pediatric to adult neurology, as well as questions about insurance and clinical trials.

  • Connect to diagnosis-specific organizations, fellow parents, and resources tailored to your needs.

  • Prepare for your child’s next neurology visit, school meetings, or other key milestones.

You can reach CNF’s Family Support Program any time by completing a simple form on their website or emailing programs@childneurologyfoundation.org. A member of their team will reach out directly to offer personalized help.

This Month’s Focus: ADHD Awareness

October brings an important opportunity to highlight ADHD Awareness Month, and CNF is helping raise understanding of ADHD, ADD, and other neurodiverse conditions that are part of the broad child neurology community. Their Disorder Directory offers practical tools and insights from families and clinicians who have walked the same path.

You can explore free ADHD resources and learn more about CNF’s 25 years of impact by visiting their website.

Learn More and Share

We encourage families, educators, and clinicians in the Migraine at School community to explore CNF’s Family Support Program and share it with anyone who could benefit. Together, we can build stronger systems of care, ensuring no family faces their child’s neurologic condition alone.
